Occupational Therapist
I qualified as an Occupational Therapist from Queen Margaret University in 2010 and have worked in several large NHS Trusts in London developing my career.
Since 2013 I have worked exclusively in neurological settings including stroke, neurology, specialist neurological rehabilitation, community neurological rehabilitation and long term conditions management. I spent the past 7 years working within a major trauma centre for a large London based organisation. This role was to assess and treat people with traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries from the intensive care unit through to discharge to rehabilitation settings or back home.
At present I also work in a NHS community rehabilitation team who treat people with any neurological injury including stroke, trauma, spinal conditions and long term chronic conditions such as motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s and multiple sclerosis.
I have an in depth understanding of the impact of neurological disability on patients and their families in the long term and work closely with both to help them to build insight and understanding into how to manage the physical, cognitive and emotional effects of traumatic injuries on long term function.
I have built excellent links with third sector organisations to help support patients and families throughout their journey after leaving hospital.
In addition, I also organise and teach on courses aimed at therapists and nurses focussing on optimum management of neurological injuries.
I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
